Spell Components

Unless specified in the spell description with a cost in gold pieces (GP) material components required for spells tend to be cheap and relatively easy to aquire. If your class doesn’t allow you to use a spell focus to substitute for material components you can simply use add a component pouch to your character sheet and use a flat price of 1 GP per spell for the material components.

For level 20 games (like Escape) spell components without a gold value are not tracked so you don’t have to buy them or add them to your inventory as long as you have a spell focus or component pouch. Only spell components with a specific cost (listed in the spell description with a GP value) need to be accounted for as gold to be subtracted from your budget – please list all these spells and component values on your character’s private Discord channel. If the spell component is listed as consumed and you intend to cast it more than once then you need to spend multiples of the gold price to cover each casting (and note this on your sheet and private channel so the DM can see what you have budgeted for).
