Greetings adventurer, my name is Dr. Samuel Hayden, chairman and owner of the UAC Argent Energy Towers. I have reached out to The Dark Order to recruit you as part of a team of elite adventurers to help us save our Facility. Over the past six months or more we have observed planar rifts opening up on our bases, allowing hordes of demon-like monstrosities to invade. I have lost so many workers and Argent materials to these monstrosities, but we’re losing the war.

I am pleading with you adventurers, stop these rifts and save my work! I have spoken with the Council of Arcania, and have placed a failsafe in the event that the rifts or the hordes overwhelm us – in 4 hours time an arcane cannon will fire a beam of absolute destruction from the sky destroying everything within a hundred miles. I have faith you will be able to close the rift before then and that this drastic action will not be needed, but please hurry.

Be careful of the terrain – most of the building are long abandoned but there may be defensive traps still active from the last few attacks. Stay low as the areas rich in Argent material we were harvesting are surrounded in huge storm clouds of pure corrosive energy that makes breathing difficult if not impossible. From the last few rifts that have appeared we have learned that the monstrosities construct ugly nests somehow tied to the rift. I believe that if you can destroy these nests then you can ultimately see what’s on the other side and hopefully discover how to close these rifts permanently.

My men have left a few power-ups scattered around the base as they were forced back, I hope they can be of some help to you if you find them. You may also find their ammo caches – I don’t know if much is left but you’re welcome to use whatever you come across.
